Nomination Suggestions for 2027 Church Leadership of Park Hill Christian Church

Nominating Committee

OFFICERS

Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary-Clerk, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Historian, Comptroller, and Sunday School Superintendent are elected for a one-year term, limited to three years in the same position. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the nominating committee and the Church Board.
The Chairman shall fulfill the usual duties of such an officer including calling and presiding at all regular or special meetings of the Official Board, Cabinet, or congregation, as provided in the Rules of Procedure.
Our current Chairman, Bill Chamberlin, has completed one year.
 
The Vice Chairperson shall attend all Board and Cabinet meetings and preside in the absence of the Chairperson. They will serve as Parliamentarian for the church.
Rob Robuck is the current Vice Chairperson and has served for three years.
 

The Secretary-Clerk keeps minutes and attendance at all Board and Cabinet meetings. They provide reports to the Board and Cabinet members. 
Janet Spickes has served in this position for three years.

 
The Treasurer approves and disburses church funds as required, provides monthly financial reports, and serves on the Stewardship Ministry.
Richard Maxam has served as Treasurer for two years.
 

The Financial Secretary shall receive and record all funds and deposit them in the proper Church accounts in accordance with the Fiscal Procedures Manual and serve as a member of the Stewardship Ministry. 
Tyler Cooper has served as Financial Secretary for one year.

 

The Church Historian shall gather and preserve data pertaining to the history, life and work of the Church, making available for publication any historical materials authorized by the Church. 
David Gregory has served as Historian for one year.

 

The Comptroller balances monthly bank statements. They work with the Financial Secretary and Treasurer to make necessary adjustments to internal account balances, as required. The Comptroller serves on the Stewardship Ministry. 
Brett Bolan has served as Comptroller for three years.

 

Sunday School Superintendent keeps weekly Sunday School attendance records, distributes attendance folders to classes, counts and submits monies received.
Tom Hanlon has completed one year as Sunday School Superintendent.

 
Trustees

Trustees are elected to a five-year term. Normally, they are not eligible for re-election until at least one year has passed. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the nominating committee and the Church Board.

Trustees shall act as the legal agents of the Church in all business matters under the direction of the Official Board, have supervision over all endowment, trust and memorial funds and perform such duties as required by the laws of the State of Arkansas. 

Current Trustees: Carolyn Meyer, Betsy White, Gary Sauheaver, John Dreher. Brooksie Read-Duncan is completing her fifth year.
 
Elders

Elders are elected to three-year terms. Not eligible for re-election until at least one year has passed. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the nominating committee and the Church Board.

Elders work with church staff and members to deepen the spiritual life of the congregation. They serve at the Lord's Table, as needed, and attend all Board and Cabinet meetings.

Current Elders: Sharon Sauheaver, Julie Kettlewell, Brooksie Read-Duncan, Danny Carson, David White, Susan Hampton. Rob Robuck, Carolyn Meyer, and John Patton have completed 3 years.
 
Diaconate

Deacons are elected to three-year terms. Not eligible for re-election until at least one year has passed. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the nominating committee and the Church Board.

The Diaconate are to prepare and present Communion emblems prior to church services, meet and greet attendees, take attendance and collect offerings.

Current Diaconate: Charlie and Deb Bausch, Bob Choate, Gary and Ann Clements, Nell Coleman, Katie and Tyler Cooper, Joe and Jan Diederich, Dawn Dreher, Laurence Gray, Donna Johnson, Gale McVicker, Yvonne Roberts, Sara Rozzell, Jon Stark, Jane White, Joanna White. 
Brent Bonewits, Alysa Carson, Rita Choate, Jimmy and Susan Crowly, Marcy Fausett, Tom Hanlon, Debra Lane, Adam Lynch, Bob and Sande Rooney have completed the third term.
 
Delegates to General Assembly

The General Assembly will be July 9-10, 2027, and will be held online. Delegates are elected for a one-year term and are limited to three consecutive terms.
 
Personnel Committee

Members of Personnel Relations Committee are elected for a three-year term. Normally they are not eligible for re-election until at least one year has passed. Exceptions to this rule are at the discretion of the nominating committee and the Church Board. An Elder will serve as a non-voting member.
The Personnel Committee shall recommend annual salary and bonus adjustments to the Stewardship Ministry prior to request for Board approval. As needed, they will prepare job descriptions and recommend compensation for open staff positions. In conjunction with church staff, conduct interviews and make recommendaions to church Board.
Current Members of Personnel Committee: Betsy White, Sharon Sauheaver, Adam Lynch. James Thompson's and Tom Hanlon's terms expire at the end of this year.
